I am going to collect my various "Orange Lantern Lex Luthor" ramblings here, as I have already hijacked no less than two other threads with these thoughts.
I hereby declare that I would love to construct an Orange Lantern Lex Luthor costume. I do not pretend that I am going to be accomplishing that goal in the foreseeable future.
Yes, I am already planning on a Silver Age Bizarro Yellow Lantern for Dragon*con 2010, and will be assembling a Jack T. Chance costume along the way (which may or may not be at D*C). I cannot imagine accomplishing the OLLL by then, and possibly never will. But wouldn't that be a total kick in the ass costume?
I want to post a few photos I found on the Internet (don't blame me if the owners remove the web links later)...
Comment: What an excellent effort. Just seeing what this guy did warms my heart. IMHO, this guy had the right idea, and made a great start, but this is only the beginning of what could (and should) be done. And painted completely orange. And with a glowing chest emblem (ala Iron Man).
Note to self: Compare with action figure (below) and make sure to allow a reasonable field of peripheral vision.
Comment: Okay, this is what's in my head. I would endeavor to make a suit that more closely resembles this action figure. Less smooth material, more technological components and circuitry. And all a vivid shade of orange. Egad, this would be sweet.
Note to self: The purple arms, waist and thighs should be made from a padded/quilted undersuit. Start with this breathable fabric (or die of heatstroke) and use that shade of orange to dictate the color of the rest of the costume.
Do I recall correctly that the rest of the Spectrum is being created for D*C? All except OLLL? I went for Bizarro because I thought it was such an original and unique idea (I still do, and I think it will look fantastic, although I have hit a snag). But wouldn't OLLL be infinitely more original and "uniquer"? Hmm... I really have to give this some very serious thought.
